THE NUTS & BOLTS
Got questions? Fair enough. Here's a quick rundown of my carpentry and handyman services, how I work, and what you can expect. Don't see what you're looking for? Just give me a shout. 📢
1
What areas do you service?
I'm based in Durham Region, Ontario, and provide carpentry, home improvement, and handyman services throughout Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Courtice, and Bowmanville.
Not sure if you're within my service area? Reach out and I'll let you know.
2
Are you insured and covered by WSIB?
Yes. Tyler Mitchell Construction Co. carries commercial general liability insurance and maintains coverage through Ontario's Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). I take safety and responsibility seriously, both for myself and for the homeowners I work with. Proof of insurance and current WSIB clearance documentation can be provided upon request.
3
Will my project require A permit?
Some projects, particularly structural work, decks, and certain renovations, may require permits or inspections.
Permit requirements depend on the type of work and local municipal regulations.
We'll discuss any necessary permits and establish who's responsible for arranging them before work begins.
4
What happens if unexpected issues come up?
Sometimes you don't know what's behind a wall until you open it. Construction likes to keep things interesting. If I discover something unexpected, like water damage, rot, or another issue that affects the original plan, I'll walk you through the options before proceeding.
Any additional work and costs will be discussed, documented, and approved.
5
Do you require a deposit?
Some projects may require a deposit, particularly when materials need to be ordered in advance. Any deposits, payment schedules, and remaining balances will be clearly outlined in your written agreement before work begins.
6
Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?
A little prep helps keep things running smoothly.
I ask that the work area be reasonably clear of personal belongings, fragile items be moved somewhere safe, and pets be secured away from the work zone.
If anything else needs to be prepared, I'll let you know ahead of time.
7
Will you clean up after the job?
Absolutely. I'll make reasonable efforts to keep the work area tidy throughout the project and clean up construction-related debris before wrapping things up.
Any larger waste removal or disposal requirements will be discussed during the quoting process.
